The Pride Go-Go Carbon is one of the lightest full-size folding scooters we offer and, in our opinion, one of the most interesting options for someone whose number-one priority is transportation.
The entire frame is constructed from carbon fibre, allowing the scooter to weigh approximately 35 lb without its battery and only around 39 lb with the battery installed.
Unlike most traditional travel scooters, there is no need to take the Go-Go Carbon apart into several sections every time you want to transport it. The scooter folds down in seconds and can even be pulled behind you like luggage once folded.
For someone who travels frequently, has limited vehicle space, or simply does not want to repeatedly disassemble a scooter, that can be a major advantage.
 
Our Thoughts on the Go-Go Carbon
 
What impresses us most about the Go-Go Carbon is just how much Pride managed to fit into such a lightweight scooter.
You still get a 300 lb weight capacity, lithium battery, four-wheel design, LED lighting, colour display and NFC ignition in a scooter weighing under 40 lb complete.
That is pretty remarkable.
For comparison, even many scooters marketed as portable have individual components weighing around 35–50 lb. With the Carbon, the entire scooter is roughly in that range.
For someone who regularly needs to get their scooter in and out of a vehicle, we think that difference is genuinely meaningful.
 
Who We Think the Go-Go Carbon Is Best For
 
We think this scooter makes the most sense for someone who places portability above almost everything else.
It is especially worth considering for air travel, cruises, vacations, shopping, appointments, restaurants, retirement residences and other situations where a lightweight scooter needs to be moved or stored frequently.
It also makes sense for someone with a smaller vehicle where fitting a conventional mobility scooter can be difficult.
Once folded, the Carbon measures approximately 19 inches long by 17.5 inches wide by 26.5 inches high, making it considerably easier to store than most traditional scooters.
 
What We Like Most
 
The weight is obviously the headline feature.
At approximately 35 lb without the battery, this is one of the few scooters where we can genuinely describe the entire scooter as lightweight rather than saying it disassembles into lighter pieces.
We also really like the folding mechanism.
Being able to fold the scooter and tow it behind you like luggage is particularly useful in airports, hotels and other travel environments.
The carbon-fibre construction also isn't limited to the main frame. Pride uses carbon fibre throughout the frame, rims and telescoping tiller.
The NFC ignition is another nice touch. Instead of relying on a traditional scooter key, the Carbon uses an electronic NFC system to activate the scooter.
 
Things We Would Consider Before Buying
 
There are compromises involved in making a scooter this lightweight, and we think these are important to understand.
The Go-Go Carbon has no suspension, relatively small solid tires and only approximately 1.5 inches of ground clearance at the motor.
Because of that, this would not be our first recommendation for someone planning to regularly drive over grass, gravel, rough sidewalks or poor outdoor terrain.
This scooter is really at its best on smooth indoor flooring, shopping centres, airports and reasonably smooth paved surfaces.
The seat is also quite compact at approximately 14 inches wide by 11.5 inches deep.
Even though the scooter has a 300 lb weight capacity, weight capacity alone does not tell us whether somebody will actually fit comfortably.
This is one of those scooters where we particularly recommend sitting in it before purchasing if possible.
 
Portability vs. Comfort
 
This is probably the biggest decision we'd discuss with somebody comparing the Carbon with a conventional Go-Go scooter.
If your main priority is ride comfort, seating size and outdoor performance, there are larger scooters we would probably recommend instead.
If your main priority is getting the scooter into a vehicle, carrying it, storing it or travelling with it, the Go-Go Carbon becomes extremely compelling.
There is no single scooter that does everything perfectly.
In our opinion, Pride has deliberately sacrificed some seating size, suspension and outdoor capability in order to make the Carbon exceptionally light and portable.
For the person who actually needs those qualities, we think that is a very reasonable trade-off.
 
Battery & Travel
 
The Go-Go Carbon uses a 24V 12Ah lithium-ion battery and provides a rated driving range of up to approximately 10 miles per charge.
Its battery is designed to comply with applicable airline battery requirements, making the Carbon particularly attractive for travellers.
Airlines still have their own policies and approval procedures, however, so we always recommend contacting your airline before travelling with any lithium-powered mobility device.
Actual driving range can also vary depending on user weight, terrain, temperature, battery condition and other operating conditions.
 
Is the Pride Go-Go Carbon Worth It?
 
If portability is one of your biggest concerns, we think the Go-Go Carbon is one of Pride's most compelling scooters.
A complete four-wheel scooter weighing approximately 39 lb with the battery installed is unusual, particularly when it still supports up to 300 lb.
But we wouldn't recommend buying it just because it is lightweight.
If you're primarily driving outdoors over rough surfaces or prioritizing a large comfortable seat, we'd probably look at a different scooter.
If you're frequently loading your scooter into a vehicle, travelling, flying or storing it in tight spaces, this is exactly the type of scooter we would want you to try.
