The Pride Genesis LC150 Lift Chair is a straightforward, comfortable option for someone who wants the essential benefits of a power lift recliner without paying for features they may never use.

It is a traditional 3-position lift chair, meaning the backrest and footrest move together as the chair reclines. For many customers, that is exactly what they need: simple controls, comfortable seating, and reliable lift assistance when getting in and out of the chair.

What we like about the Genesis LC150 is its simplicity. There are no complicated menus or numerous positioning buttons to learn. It is a good choice for someone who wants their lift chair to be easy to understand and easy to use every day.

Traditional 3-Position Reclining

The Genesis LC150 uses a traditional 3-position reclining system.

As the chair reclines, the backrest and chaise move together, allowing the user to move from an upright seated position into progressively more relaxed positions.

It does not offer the independent back and leg adjustment found on more advanced VivaLift models, but that is not necessarily a disadvantage.

For someone who simply wants to sit comfortably, put their feet up, recline, and receive assistance standing again, the LC150 keeps things uncomplicated.

Fully Padded Chaise

The chair features a fully padded chaise design that supports the legs from the seat through to the footrest.

We prefer this style over chairs that leave a large gap between the seat and footrest because it provides more continuous support underneath the legs while reclining.

The LC150 also uses sinuous spring seating, giving it the familiar feel of a traditional living-room recliner.

Easy-to-Use Hand Control

One of the things we particularly like about the Genesis is the simple toggle hand control.

The chair is designed to be operated without having to remember several different buttons or positioning modes.

The hand control also includes a magnetic holder on either side of the chair, which helps keep the remote within reach instead of constantly falling onto the floor or disappearing between the cushions.

Small and Medium Sizes

The Genesis LC150 is available in two sizes.

The Small model has a 20-inch seat width and 18-inch seat depth and is generally recommended by Pride for users approximately 5'3" and under.

The Medium has a 22-inch seat width and 20-inch seat depth and is generally recommended for users approximately 5'4" to 5'9".

Both sizes have a 325 lb weight capacity.

We always treat manufacturer height recommendations as a starting point rather than a guarantee of fit.

Seat depth, lower-leg length, seat-to-floor height, hip width, posture, and transfer ability can all affect which chair feels best. Whenever possible, we recommend trying the chair before deciding on a size.

Power Lift Assistance

The Genesis LC150 gradually raises and tilts forward to assist the user when moving from sitting to standing.

For someone who struggles to stand from a conventional recliner or sofa, the lift mechanism can reduce the amount of effort required during a sit-to-stand transfer.

The same powered system also lowers the user back into the chair in a smooth and controlled manner.

A lift chair should still fit the user properly. If the seat is too deep, too high, or too low, getting in and out can still be uncomfortable even when the chair has a lift mechanism.

Battery Backup

The Genesis includes an integrated battery backup system.

This is an important feature for anyone who relies on the chair's lift function because it provides backup operation if household power is interrupted.

It is one of those features that may not seem important until the chair is needed during an outage.

Fabric and Colour Options

The Genesis LC150 is available in several upholstery choices, including Pride's Sophie fabric in Latte, Sapphire, Shale, and Cabernet, along with Lexis Vinyl in Chestnut.

This gives customers a good range of traditional colours without making the chair look overly medical.

Who Is the Genesis LC150 Best For?

We think the Genesis LC150 is an excellent choice for someone who wants a dependable lift chair at a more accessible price point.

It is best suited to customers who want simple operation, comfortable reclining, reliable sit-to-stand assistance, and a traditional furniture appearance.

If you need independent footrest and back positioning, powered lumbar support, powered headrest adjustment, heat, massage, or zero-gravity-style positioning, we would recommend looking at one of Pride's more advanced VivaLift models instead.

But if you do not need those features, there is little reason to pay for them.
